Iowa State faces a tricky road game against Oklahoma State on Saturday, made even trickier by the fact star forward Jameel McKay has not traveled with the team to play in the game.

ISU announced late Friday night that McKay has been suspended indefinitely.

If you’re to believe McKay, though, the sit-down will last only for the weekend. After the suspension was announced, he tweeted:

McKay averages 12.0 points, 9.0 rebounds and 1.7 blocks for the Cyclones (16-6). He was the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year last season. This suspension is the second this season for an ISU player; Hallice Cooke was sat down for a game in league play after being tardy for practice.

ISU is 5-4 in the Big 12 and has dropped its past two games. Deonte Burton (8.6 ppg, 3.5 rpg) should step in to replace McKay in the starting lineup.
