Nothing bright about the Suns when they play on the road

It has been a season to forget for the Phoenix Suns.

They are ahead of just the Los Angeles Lakers and the Philadelphia 76ers in the NBA standings, they get to watch Isaiah Thomas flourish into an All-Star in Boston and they are a terrible team on the road.

Phoenix is in the midst of a 17 game road losing streak, during which they are a putrid 1-16 against the spread, including failing to cover the last 12 in a row. Talk about road trips from hell.

The Suns are 4-25 straight up and 7-22 ATS (5-22 ATS in the last 27) on the road this season, where they allow 110.4 points per game, while scoring just 97.1 ppg.

During the 12-game ATS skid, it’s even worse.

Phoenix is playing lackadaisical defense allowing 114.0 ppg in those 12 games, while at the same time putting up a pathetic showing on the offensive end, scoring just 92.4 ppg.

The Suns hope to end their road woes tonight in Orlando, but it won’t be easy, as Phoenix is currently tabbed as 13-point road dogs versus the Magic. Orlando is 5-2 ATS in their last seven home games.

If the Suns lose, they will set the franchise record for longest losing streak, breaking the record set back in 1973-74.
