Odds to Make 2016 NHL Playoffs

With the NHL preseason underway, sportsbooks have released their updated playoff odds. The defending Stanley Cup champion Blackhawks top the list with the strongest odds to make the playoffs at -1100. They’re followed closely by the Rangers who come in at -1000.

The team Bodog views as the biggest longshot to make the playoffs are the Coyotes who come in at +400. They’re followed by the Hurricanes at +300 and the Devils and Sabres are neck and neck at +275.

Maple Leafs fans won’t be happy to see their team rank among the top underdogs at +250, making them the biggest longshot of Canada’s seven franchises. It’ll also sadden them to see that their hated rival Canadiens top the list of Canadian contenders at -280.

To throw even more gas on the fire, former Leafs whipping boy Phil Kessel looks like a virtual lock to be playing in the postseason as his new team, the Penguins, come in at -800.
