Oklahoma State officials are still trying to decide whether to remove Travis Ford as their men’s basketball coach, a source confirmed to CBSSports.com on Tuesday.
NewsOK.com reported this development late Monday.
ESPN.com is reporting Ford’s chances of returning are “50-50.”
A source told CBSSports.com that Ford’s buyout is the only thing that might save him.
It’s at least $9.6 million, according to NewsOK.com.
Ford’s contract, which was extended in 2009, runs through 2019.
Oklahoma State has, under Ford, made three straight NCAA Tournaments but lost in the Round of 64 each time. Ford is 143-91 in seven years at OSU. He’s 60-65 in Big 12 games.
