Oklahoma’s Buddy Hield announced Friday morning that he’ll stay in Norman for a fourth and final season.

It’s a huge boon for Lon Kruger’s team, which should absolutely be a preseason top-10 club. And for Hield, expect him to be on many a preseason ranking of First Team All-Americans.

The Sooners have become a stronger program in the past three years with Hield in the fold. The shooting guard averaged 17.4 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.9 assists last season. He was the Big 12 Player of the Year. Hield was also a Third Team AP All-American and earned Second Team mention here at CBSSports.com.

Oklahoma finished 24-11 and reached the Sweet 16. Now it will have Final Four optimism for 2015-16.

With Hield in the fold once more, that means Oklahoma wil not lose any players prematurely. We rank the Sooners No. 8 overall in our Ridiculously Early Top 25 (and one). The Big 12 will be interesting at the top. OU is also bringing back Isaiah Cousins, Jordan Woodard, Ryan Spangler, and Khadeem Lattin. The Sooners, Kansas Jayhawks and Iowa State Cyclones should combine for a great race atop the league.
