After missing the NIT (and you can check out the NIT matchups here) Oregon State and Cal have decided to end their season instead of participating in the CBI.
“We appreciate receiving a bid from the CBI but will decline,” Oregon State coach Wayne Tinkle said Sunday night, via an official release. “We were hopeful to make the NIT and knew we were close, but we have made the decision to end our season at this time.”
Oregon State had a successful first season under Tinkle, winning 15 games at home and testing some of the better teams in the Pac-12. Tinkle said that he wanted to give his players the opportunity to “turn their focus on finals and finishing the rest of the academic year on a strong note, while also preparing for next season.”
According to the Jeff Faraudo, of the Bay Area News Group, Cal has also declined an invitation to the CBI after Cuonzo Martin’s first season with the Bears.
There will be no CBI for @CalMensBBall, which declined an invitation.

Michigan’s season is over, too. Three weeks ago, Wolverines coach John Beilein said his team would not accept a CBI bid if it did not make the NIT field.
