Overs, Underdogs the hot play in primetime NFL matchups – 10-06-2014

USA Today Sports

There are a couple glaring trends in the NFL’s
primetime matchups this season and savvy bettors have surely
been reaping the rewards.

The Over has gone an incredible 13-2 in the 15 primetime
games on Thursdays, Sundays and Mondays this season, capped
by the New England Patriots and Cincinnati Bengals combining
for 60 points in the Sunday night matchup in Week 5.

The Over is so hot right now right now, that it’s cashed in
10 straight primetime games after a pair of Unders in the
Week 1 Monday finale and Week 2’s Thursday nighter.

Underdogs have also been sizzling at the betting window in
these standalone spots, posting wins against the spread in
six of the last seven. With New England covering as a
2.5-point home dog over Cincy Sunday night, pups improved
their record to 10-5 ATS.

They’ve been covering in convincing fashion as well. Six of
the last seven dogs have covered by at least 21 points. In
the previous Monday night game, the Kansas City Chiefs
covered the spread by a whopping 30 points, winning outright
as 3-point home dogs 41-14 over the Pats. Five of the
previous six pups have covered the spread by double digits.

Furthermore, teams getting points have been even hotter on
Monday Nighters, posting a record of 4-1 ATS heading into the
Week 5 matchup.

Monday’s Week 5 finale pits the Seattle Seahawks at FedEx
Field to face the Washington Redskins. Washington is
currently a 7.5-point home dog with the total presently 45.5.
