US PRESSWIRE

Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has been
indicted for child abuse charges, according to a
report from TMZ Sports
.

Sportsbooks quickly took the Vikings odds for their Week 2
matchup with the New England Patriots off the board after
opening Minnesota as a 3-point home underdog.

According to a linesmaker at GTBets.eu, Peterson is
worth around two points to the Vikings spread.

The victim is reportedly an 11-year-old male child from
Minnesota who visited Peterson at his home in Texas. The
mother of the child noticed injuries to the child and took
him to a doctor, who reported the injuries to the
authorities.

“We’re taking it off the board for a little bit, will see
where the lines settle,” says GTBets.eu. “I expect it will
open back up at +4.5.”

Peterson rushed for 75 yards on 21 carries in the Vikings’
victory over St. Louis in  Week 1. He did not practice
Thursday but was there Friday. Peterson turned himself into
authorities and is cooperating with the investigation.

Peterson’s two-year-old son died last October from injuries
after being assaulted by the boyfriend of the child’s mother.
Peterson was unaware of the child until a few weeks before
the incident.
