Week 3 of NFL preseason play wraps up today with a three-game slate, including one contest that’s seen significant line movement. Covers talks about where the action is with Nick Bogdanovich, director of trading for William Hill US in Las Vegas, and Scott Shelton, shift manager and oddsmaker for The Mirage sportsbook on the Strip.

San Diego Chargers at Minnesota Vikings – Open: Vikings -4; Move: Vikings -6.5

The Vikings will be amped up as they debut in their brand new US Bank Stadium. Bettors appear to be equally amped to back Minnesota, running up the line 2.5 points by this morning, ahead of the 1 p.m. Eastern kickoff.

“There must be some minutes that favor Minnesota for it go up this much,” Bogdanovich said, alluding to how long each team’s key starters might play today. “There’s no two-way action here. It’s all Vikings.”

It was the same story at The Mirage, which also opened at 4 and has seen almost nothing but Minnesota money.

“We took a lot at 4.5 and continued to take a lot at 6, and now we’re at 6.5,” Shelton said late Saturday night. “It’s comical. It’s all Vikings money.”

Arizona Cardinals at Houston Texans – Open: Texans -1; Move: Pick ‘em

Arizona is 0-2 SU and ATS this preseason, while Houston is 2-0 SU and ATS. But the Cards are expected to be among the best teams in the league this year, and with Week 3 of the preseason typically when teams fine-tune for Week 1 of the regular season, Arizona is drawing more action for this 4:25 p.m. Eastern kickoff.

“It’s all Cardinal money, and I’d say that’s very public money,” Bogdanovich said. “You get the Cardinals in a pick ‘em situation, and it looks like the public is all on Arizona. I could see Arizona going off as the favorite.”

The Mirage also went to pick ‘em by late Saturday night, after opening Houston -1.

“It wasn’t a lot of money, but it’s all one-sided on the Cardinals,” Shelton said.
