Quick Lane Bowl Odds

The Rutgers Scarlet Knights and the North Carolina Tar Heels will write the first chapter in the book for the inaugural Quick Lane Bowl at Ford Field this month.

The Scarlet Knights have lost their last two bowl games, including last year’s 29-16 Pinstripe Bowl loss to Notre Dame as a 14.5-point underdog. Despite their short bowl-game losing streak Rutgers is 6-1-1 ATS in their last eight bowl games.

The Tar Heels won the Belk Bowl last season, topping Cincinnati 39-17 as a 2.5-point favorite. In their last six bowl appearances the Heels are 2-4 SU and 3-3 ATS. North Carolina is the early Quick Lane Bowl favorite at the sportsbooks.

[ Quick Lane Bowl Matchup Stats | Rutgers vs North Carolina Betting Preview ]

Quick Lane Bowl Betting Trends: Rutgers 6-1-1 ATS in eight bowl games . . . UNC 6-3-1 ATS in 10 bowl games since 1995.

Rutgers concluded the regular season with a 41-38 win over Maryland as a 7.5-point underdog. That may not bode well for the Scarlet Knights as they haven’t won back-to-back game since early October. In eight games as the underdog this season Rutgers was 3-5 SU and 5-3 ATS.

The Tar Heels stumbled to the finish line during the regular season, losing their finale against North Carolina State 35-7 as a 6.5-point favorite. North Carolina wasn’t a great choice for bettors this season when they were favored, posting a 2-4 record ATS. They did, however, put together a nice run for totals bettors late in the season, going 4-1 on the UNDER in their last five games.

The Scarlet Knights and Tar Heels last met in 2011 in a barn burner that UNC won 24-22 as a 9.5-point favorite. Looking back even farther the Tar Heels are 3-1 SU and 2-2 ATS in their last four games versus the Knights.
