The South Alabama Jaguars will be making their first ever bowl game appearance in just their third season as full-fledged members of the Sun Belt conference. The Jags achieved bowl eligibility with a 6-6 record last season but were not selected to participate in a game.
Bowling Green makes a bowl game appearance for a fourth straight year, and is 4-7 SU in 11 all-time bowl appearances. The Falcons are a dismal 2-5 SU in their last seven bowl games, 1-5-1 ATS, including a 30-27 loss to Pittsburgh in last year’s Little Caesar’s Bowl, losing outright as 6.5-point favorites.

After roaring to a 7-3 SU start, the Bowling Green Falcons stumbled down the stretch, losing outright in their final three games, including a devastating 51-17 loss to Northern Illinois in the Mid-American Conference Championship Game, failing to cover as 5.5-point underdogs. The Falcons have been a betting disappointment this season, going 4-8-1 ATS, and are winless in their last four ATS, going 0-3-1. The point total finished UNDER in five straight mid-season games for Bowling Green before finishing OVER in their final two, both SU losses in which they surrendered an average of 46 points per game.
Following a fast 5-2 start, the Jaguars faded down the stretch, winning just one of their last five SU, enough to ensure bowl eligibility for the fledgling football program. The Jags went 1-6 ATS in their last seven and have seen the total finish UNDER in four of their last six.
