Rhode Island’s Hassan Martin will miss the rest of the 2015-16 season due to a knee injury he received during Tuesday’s loss at Davidson, sources told CBS Sports on Wednesday.

The 6-foot-7 junior was a Preseason All-Atlantic 10 player and was averaging 12.0 points and 5.7 rebounds.

Martin also missed two games earlier this season due to an ankle injury.

This another brutal setback for Rams coach Dan Hurley, who also lost another Preseason All-Atlantic 10 player — E.C. Matthews — to a torn ACL in the season’s first game against American.

Rhode Island is currently 15-13 overall and next visits Dayton on Saturday.
