Road favorites cashing at a big rate this season

USA TODAY Sports

Heading into Sunday’s NHL schedule, backing the road favorite straight up has been a great wager whenever that opportunity presents itself. Visiting faves have posted a record of 46-22 prior to the puck dropping on Sunday’s game, good enough for a win rate of just under 68 percent.

This trend is true only for straight up wagers and not puckline bets. When it comes to the puckline, away favorites have gone just 21-43.

Season to date, favorites have gone 147-105 (58.33 percent) while home favorites have posted a record of 101-83 (54.89 percent).

There are just a pair of games on a typically light Sunday around the NHL with no opportunity to bet this spot. Keep an eye on Monday’s board, however, as there are six games on the docket.
