This should have been the first bobblebutt.
After all, when Ron Hunter was flung from his sliding stool in March — after his son hit a winning shot, giving us an instant and all-time March Madness moment — it was his posterior, not his head, that made the March moment all the more memorable.
This might be the best moment from all of last season: Georgia State knocking off No. 3 Baylor in the Round of 64.
Regardless, Hunter’s indeliable crash has been deified in bobblehead form. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution has an interview with CEO of the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum (yes, it exists), Phil Sklar. Sklar said the company has already sold “several hundred” of the bobbleheads, and with an uptick in press coverage on this a few days removed, hundreds more orders are likely to pile up this week.
Remember, Hunter was only sitting on the stool because he tore his achilles after celebrating Georgia State’s Sun Belt-clinching win a few days before. On Monday, Turner said he’s still recovering from that achilles tear; he’ll have to wear sneakers on the court for the entirety of the upcoming season.
