The New York Jets took their shot this past Sunday. Now Miami goes after unbeaten New England on Thursday. The Patriots opened as 7.5-point favorites.
The Patriots floated around being 7.5-point to 9.5-point favorites versus the Jets. They won by just seven when Nick Folk booted a 55-yard field goal with 18 seconds left.
The Dolphins are rejuvenated since Dan Campbell took over as interim coach two games ago. Miami pounded Tennessee, 38-10, two weeks ago and this past Sunday buried Houston building a 35-0 lead.
Still, expect a similar betting pattern with the Patriots likely to get bet up.
New England has dominated Miami at Foxboro winning there the past five years. The Patriots’ average margin of victory in their last three home wins against the Dolphins is 22 points.

It takes a special kind of team and coach to blow a 24-point lead to the Kirk Cousins-quarterbacked Washington Redskins. The Redskins have been playing football in Washington since 1937. They had never won a game trailing by that many points before – until meeting Tampa Bay and Lovie Smith this past Sunday.
While the banged-up Redskins earn a well deserved bye, the Buccaneers opened as 7.5-point road underdogs to Atlanta. The Falcons have taken advantage of winning four games by a combined 15 points – including a six-point overtime win against the Redskins – to open 6-1.
Tampa Bay is 4-18 lifetime under Smith. But the Buccaneers have covered in seven of their last 10 road games, including last week against the Redskins.

The marquee matchup of the Week 8 card is the Sunday night game between Green Bay and Denver. Both are unbeaten and off byes. The Packers opened as 2.5-point favorites. Green Bay is 10-2 following a bye under Mike McCarthy.
Back in 2010, Minnesota closed as a one-point road favorite against Chicago. The Vikings are favored at Soldier Field for the first time since then opening minus two. The Bears have won the past seven times hosting the Vikings, covering six of the seven.
Minnesota, though, has covered 13 of its last 16 games. The Vikings are 5-1 ATS this season.
