Will Rory McIlroy get shut out of major tournament wins on the PGA Tour this season? Will Jordan Spieth sweep the four majors in 2015? That’s the subject of prop bets released by online sportsbook Bodog in the wake of Spieth’s U.S. Open victory at Chambers Bay.
Spieth is set at 1/4 odds at Bodog to win exactly two major tournaments this season – someone he has already done with wins at the Masters and the U.S. Open. Spieth winning three majors is set at 11/4 odds, and winning all four majors is set at lucrative 25/1 odds.
Meanwhile, McIlroy is set at 2/5 odds to win zero major tournaments this season, after he finished fourth at the Masters and tied for ninth at the U.S. Open. McIlroy has four major wins in his career, including last year’s British Open and PGA Championship.
The oddsmakers at Bodog then have McIlroy set at 2/1 odds to win one major tournament this season, and at 20/1 odds to win two majors – which would mean he’d have to grab the trophy at both the British Open in July and the PGA Championship later in the summer.
