Dale Earnhardt Jr. will be looking to pay out on the NASCAR betting lines for the third straight time at Pocono Raceway when he hits the track on Sunday afternoon in the Axalta We Paint Winners 400.
Earnhardt Jr. took the checkered flag and paid off for his supporters on the Sprint Cup Series odds in both events at Pocono Raceway in 2014, winning the Pocono 400 in June and the GoBowling.com 400 in August.
In last year’s Pocono 400 Earnhardt Jr. held off Brad Keselowski and Kurt Busch for the visit to Victory Lane, with Denny Hamlin, Kyle Larson, Jimmie Johnson, Ryan Newman, Jeff Gordon, Martin Truex Jr., and Jamie McMurray rounding out the Top 10 drivers at that race.
The GoBowling.com 400 then saw Earnhardt Jr. beat Kevin Harvick and Joey Logano across the finish line, with Clint Bowyer, Greg Biffle, Gordon, McMurray, Newman, Hamlin, and Kasey Kahne the rest of the Top 10 at that event.
Johnson was 39th at last year’s GoBowling.com 400, but he’s in top form heading into the Axalta We Paint Winners 400 as he’s coming off a victory in the FedEx 400 over Harvick and Larson at Dover International Speedway on May 31.
That result has Johnson tied with Logano in third place in the updated Sprint Cup Series driver standings heading into the month of June. Harvick leads the overall driver standings, with Truex Jr. in second place in the points race. Earnhardt Jr. sits fifth in the standings.
Johnson leads the Sprint Cup Series with four victories so far this season, with Harvick taking the checkered flag twice in 2015. Earnhardt Jr., Logano, Keselowski, Kenseth, Hamlin, Carl Edwards, and Busch all have one win apiece through the first 13 races of 2015.
