The 2015 SuperContest heads into Week 2 at the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook with a record 108 contestants trying to improve upon their perfect 5-0 records, including Kelly Stewart (aka kellyinvegas) and Eric Sollenberger of Team OddsShark.
Out of the 1,727 contestants, 317 picked the Thursday Night Football game between the host Kansas City Chiefs (-3) and Denver Broncos, with 203 of them (64 percent) picking incorrectly as the visitors rallied for a 31-24 win.
The most popular consensus NFL pick in the SuperContest among entrants in Week 2 is the Pittsburgh Steelers (-5.5) hosting the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday – chosen 608 times – followed by the Cincinnati Bengals (-3) who were selected 499 times at home against the San Diego Chargers.
The Steelers are already up to -6 or -6.5 at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.
Bengals Top Selection by Team OddsShark
However, Pittsburgh was not the most popular pick among Team OddsShark, selected just six times. The Bengals were their top pick, chosen by 10 members, including the OddsShark Super Computer (2-3 in Week 1). The Dallas Cowboys (+5.5) were the second most popular selection by Team OddsShark members, picked eight times.
Stewart also has the Bengals this week along with the Buffalo Bills (+1), Washington Redskins (+3.5), New York Giants (-2.5) and Seattle Seahawks (+3.5) after going 19-1 the past four weeks dating back to last season when she won the $15,000 Mini Contest.
Sollenberger did not have any of the Top 5 consensus picks in the SuperContest overall, opting to go with the 49ers, Redskins, Detroit Lions (+3), Cleveland Browns (+1) and Oakland Raiders (+5.5) as he tries to stay unbeaten in Week 2.
Fuhrman Looking for Rebound in Week 2
2014 Team OddsShark group winner Todd Fuhrman will be looking to get out of the cellar after going 1-4 in Week 1. Fuhrman started last year by going 14-1 in the first three weeks and ended up with 51 of 85 possible points (60 percent).
He is tied for last with Dan Katz (aka BarstoolBigCat) among the 21 group members. Overall, 15 members had a 3-2 record or better in Week 1, including seven that went 4-1.
