Sometimes avoiding a bad week with a tough slate of games is all it takes to stay on top. That was the case in Week 8 of the SuperContest at the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook with both the overall leader and frontrunner for Team OddsShark.
Rounding Again maintained first place overall by going 3-1-1 to move to 32 points out of 40. Meanwhile, David Fucillo from SB Nation went 2-2-1 and has 27 points to remain atop the Team OddsShark standings.
Both earned half a point on the New Orleans Saints (4-4), who pushed as 3-point home favorites against the New York Giants (4-4) in a wild 52-49 victory. New Orleans quarterback Drew Brees and New York’s Eli Manning set an NFL record in that game by combining for 13 touchdown passes.
Ryan Fowler from FOX Sports is still in second place in the group standings with 24.5 points despite going 6-9 over the past three weeks. He is just half a point ahead of Nick Kostos from CBS SportsLine, who has quickly risen up to third place after his third consecutive 4-1 week. Kostos has enjoyed four straight winning weeks overall to overcome a rough 9-11 start.
super computer moves into tie for fifth
There are four Team OddsShark members tied for fourth place in the group, including the OddsShark Super Computer, which also avoided a losing week by going 2-2-1. jumped into a tie for fifth place in the group following an impressive 4-1 week.
The Computer has 23 points along with Ben Watanabe from NESN, Rob Pizzola, and Joe Ostrowski from The Score in Chicago. Watanabe and Pizzola each moved up by going 3-2 in Week 8 while Ostrowski fell from third by going 1-4.
Eric Sollenberger from SB Nation has gotten back on track over the past two weeks as well, going 7-3 – including 4-1 in Week 8 – to jump into a tie for 12th in the group standings. Sollenberger started the season at 8-2 but suffered through four losing weeks in a row before the turnaround.
Ben Eckstein from America’s Line had the second-best performance in the group last week with a 3-1-1 mark, and he has gone 10-3-2 over the past three to move into a tie for eighth place with 22.5 points.
