TCU’s Trevone Boykin arrested in San Antonio, charged with assaulting a police officer

Texas Christian Horned Frogs quarterback Trevone Boykin was arrested in San Antonio in the early hours Thursday morning following an altercation at a local bar which led to the senior signal caller “striking” a bicycle patrol officer.

Per a report from ESPN.com:

Boykin and his TCU teammates are in San Antonio to face the Oregon Ducks in the Valero Alamo Bowl and are currently tabbed as 1-point favorites for the matchup.

A statement from the TCU athletic department read, “We are aware of a situation last night and are gathering information,” the statement reads. “We will continue to closely monitor this and evaluate additional details as they become available.”

The Frogs were 10-2 straight up and 6-6 against the spread during the season.
