UCF backers saved by Alexander’s goal-line defense – 10-03-2014

It seemed that Houston was on the comeback trail. After
pulling starting quarterback John O’Korn for Greg Ward Jr., the
Cougars started climbing back from a 17-6 deficit.

With 24 seconds left, Ward lunged for the endzone looking to
put Houston up, but at the last moment UCF’s Brandon
Alexander caused a fumble that soared out of the endzone.
This led to a touchback sealing the game for the Knights.

Alexander’s last second heroics saved UCF backers as the
final score would have likely been 19-17 in favor of Houston
and would have resulted in a push. UCF instead won 17-12
straight-up and covered the spread for bettors.
