UCLA extends winning streak to five, remains 25th in Top 25 (and one)

UCLA extended its winning streak to five games Tuesday night with an 89-80 victory over Louisiana-Lafayette inside Pauley Pavilion. Neither Thomas Welsh (stomach virus) nor Prince Ali (bruised left knee), two of the Bruins’ top six scorers, played in the win. UCLA’s next game is Saturday against North Carolina in the CBS Sports Classic. The Bruins are ranked 25th in the updated CBS Sports Top 25 (and one) college basketball rankings.
