Sunday of the Week 16 NFL schedule sees another game – the second of the week (Tennessee at Jacksonville) – with a total in the 30s, which has been a rare occurrence this season. But sub-40 totals have equaled cashed Under tickets for bettors as games with those low numbers have posted an Over/Under record of 0-4.

There have been only four instances of totals closing under 40 this season and one was just last Thursday, when the Jaguars defeated the Titas 21-13 to stay under the closing number of 39. Elsewhere this season, the Carolina Panthers defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 20-14 to finish under the closing 38.5 number in Week 1. The following week saw the total close at 37.5 for the St. Louis Rams-Buccaneers meeting before the former won 19-17 to stay just under the number. Finally, last week, the Seattle Seahawks defeated the San Francisco 49ers 17-7 to cash tickets for bettors who took the Under 38 in that game.

This week, the Seahawks visit the Arizona Cardinals Sunday and the total is presently 36.5. The Oakland Raiders host the Buffalo Bills, where the total is presently 40, but that has spent some time at 39 and 39.5

The matchup between the Panthers and Cleveland Browns remains off the board.
