Well thanks to an amazing defense.
In a show of dominating defense, Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos defeated the Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers 24-10 in Super Bowl 50 Sunday night.
With the win the Broncos easily cashed as 4.5-point underdogs, with the under 43 also cashing with relative ease.
While most of the public money was on the Panthers heading into the ‘Big Game’, once Sunday arrived, the smart money and big money bets started coming in on the Broncos as kickoff approached.
According to sportsbook William Hill, the Panthers closed Super Bowl 50 seeing 69 percent of the spread dollars and 61 percent of the moneyline wagers.
The sharp money was also on the under and with both defenses playing tough smash mouth football through the game, it’s not hard to see why.
The Broncos finish the season 10-8-1 against the spread and 6-12-1 Over/Under, while the Panthers drop to 13-6 ATS and 12-6-1 O/U.
