Conference USA suspended UTEP coach Tim Floyd was one game for failing to leave the court quickly after receiving two quick technical fouls and being ejected in a loss at Louisiana Tech on Thursday, according to the Associated Press.
The league said Floyd violated the league’s conduct policy, which calls for an automatic suspension if a coach doesn’t leave the floor in a timely manner after an ejection. Floyd, who was ejected with 10:05 left in the second half, will miss Saturday’s game at Southern Miss.
The Miners had won seven straight games before losing 77-60 to Louisiana Tech, which leads C-USA. UTEP, tied for second in C-USA with an 11-4 record, is 19-8 overall.
As of Friday, CBSSports.com Bracketology Expert Jerry Palm did not have UTEP making the NCAA tournament.
