Welcome to Vegas Sports Betting Jacksonville Jaguars season preview where we will further discuss the odds of them winning the division, conference, and Super bowl offered by the best online sportsbooks.
The Jacksonville Jaguars had another poor year as they finished the season off with a 4-12 records; at least they didn’t do as bad as their division rival (Houston Texan). This year, the Jaguar were able to acquire add a key asset to their roster; the team was able to pick up the top quarterback of this year’s draft. As a 3rd overall pick, the Jaguar picked QB Blake Bortles from UCF; he is said to be their next franchise QB however is set to be the back-up for Chad Henne for now. Furthermore, their running game has taken a complete turnaround as they lost long-time Jaguars running- Maurice Jones Drew to the Oakland Raiders. They replaced the veteran running back with Toby Gerhart who was originally from the Minnesota Viking; therefore, don’t expect much from their rushing offense. They also acquired wide receiver Marquise Lee from USC who is set in that 2nd receiver slot. Cecil Shorts is finally heathy and ready to return on the field as he comes back from a hamstring injury that occurred last season. A key loss to this receiver mix involves Justin Blackmon; he is currently facing a 24 game suspension and is eligible to play on week 9 of the 2014 regular season. That being said, I would recommend Cecil Shorts for your fantasy as he will be getting most of the reception and yards for this Jaguars offense.
On the other hand, the team was most certainly active in acquiring defensive players during the off-season. The Jaguars were able to pick up defensive ends Chris Clemons and Red Bryant both coming from the Seattle Seahawks. These two players were an excellent acquisition by the Jaguars as Clemons and Bryant will enhance this defense. The odds tables considered the Jaguars the least favorite of the entire league; this is believable as head coach Gus Bradley has much work to do in practically every area of the field.
