Butler’s Roosevelt Jones is just one of those players who seems like he’s been in college forever.
Part of that has to do with the fact that he’s been at Butler since the Bulldogs were back in the Horizon League in 2011-12. That’s two conferences ago for this group. He was coached by Brad Stevens, which is also two coaches ago for the university.
But the other portion of what makes Jones seem like such a throw-back is the way he plays. He has a sort of old man’s game based upon slashing and scoring. In fact, in his four-plus years at Butler, he had never made a 3-pointer.
Until Saturday, that is.
And boy, did he do it in style.
Pretty awesome way to knock down that first 3, huh?
