Maybe home teams just thought they could kick their feet up Thursday, but it did not pan out as they went an abysmal 1-9 straight-up. Teams taking to their home diamonds managed to amass a mere 2.3 runs, with four teams only plating a lone runner.

Road teams dominated the scoresheet by almost doubling up their hosting counterparts (44-23). Four road teams even managed to win by three or more runs in hostile territory Thursday.

The lone home team to leave action with a ‘W’ Thursday was the Texas Rangers, and it took them 11 innings to pull a 2-1 victory over the White Sox.

On the season as a whole home teams have won 53.41 percent of the time.
