All good things must come to an end, and that’s exactly what happened to SuperContest co-leader Todd Fuhrman and his perfect record in Week 3.
Todd still went an impressive 4-1 after going 10-0 in the first two weeks, losing with the New York Jets -3 on Monday Night Football as they fell to the Chicago Bears 27-19.
Todd remains one of the SuperContest co-leaders at 14-1 overall heading into Week 4 NFL action.
The VSB Prediction Computer grinded out yet another 2-3 week to move to 6-9 overall but was 12-4 straight-up and 8-7-1 against the spread on its picks for every game. The computer picked the St. Louis Rams to win outright against the Dallas Cowboys and also had the Rams as a SuperContest play. St. Louis held a 21-0 lead over Dallas in the second quarter but saw the Cowboys rally back by scoring 27 of the next 30 points en route to a 34-31 victory.
Another tough loss for the computer in the SuperContest was the Denver Broncos, who rallied back to tie the Seattle Seahawks at the end of regulation only to lose by a rare overtime touchdown. The Broncos fell just short of covering the spread as 5-point underdogs in a 26-20 win for the defending Super Bowl champions.
The only other contestants participating in the VSB SuperContest Challenge to enjoy a winning Week 3 were CBS Sports host Erin Sharoni (4-1) and Bleacher Report columnist Nick Kostos (3-2), who ranks second overall among them behind Fuhrman at 9-6. Kelly Stewart and America’s Line author Ben Eckstein were both tied for second last week at 7-3, but each of them struggled by going 1-4.
