The Ohio State Buckeyes walked away with the inaugural National College Football Championship Monday with a 42-20 victory over Oregon. Bettors should take notice of how this will affect their hardwood counterparts in the first game afterwards against Michigan Tuesday.

Over the past five seasons after a NCAAF champion was crowned, the hoops team from that school are 4-1 against the spread in their first game afterwards.

The Florida State Seminoles shot 47 percent from the floor and topped Clemson 56-41 as 3-point road dogs last season.

With Alabama’s three NCAAF title wins over the past five seasons, the Crimson Tide basketball team went 2-1 straight up and ATS after the big victory on the field. The lone losses coming against Mizzou last season losing 84-68 as 10-point dogs.

After Auburn’s 2010 title win, the hoops team got beatdown at Kentucky, but managed to cover as huge 24.5-dogs.

The over/under record for the games have been split with the over cashing out three times, but those have been the past three consecutive years.
