Wyoming coach Larry Shyatt said Monday leading scorer Larry Nance Jr. will travel with the team for Tuesday’s game at Nevada, but he will not play, according to WyoSports.net.
Shyatt added the senior forward is feeling better after missing the last three games due to mononucleosis.
Shyatt said last week the team was hopeful Nance would make his return by Feb. 25 against Fresno State, which is the Cowboys’ next game after Tuesday’s contest.
Nance remains the Cowboys’ leading scorer (16.3 ppg) and rebounder (7.2 rpg). He is also averaging 1.4 steals and 1.2 blocks per game.
The Cowboys (20-6, 9-4 Mountain West) ended a two-game losing streak with a 77-60 win Saturday against San Jose State. However, as of Monday, CBSSports.com Bracketology Expert Jerry Palm still does not have Wyoming among the teams making the NCAA Tournament.
