Golden State Looking to Dominate at Home against Boston

The Golden State Warriors, who dispatched the Dallas Mavericks exactly one week ago, will have the edge on rest and home-court advantage as they get ready to take part in their sixth NBA Finals in eight years when they get to tangle with the Boston Celtics in the opener for the ultimate goal of a new title. The two teams will meet for the first time ever in the postseason as the series is scheduled to start Thursday night from the Chase Center at 9:00 p.m. ET in San Francisco, Ca.

After sweeping the Brooklyn Nets in their opening series 5 weeks ago, the Celtics were battle-tested in their next two stints going the distance against Milwaukee and Miami while going 5-2 on the road during that span. The 17-time NBA Champions enter this opener as a 3.5 underdog, according to 365 Betting, with the total set at 212 points. The two sides split the two-game series this season each winning their tilts on foreign soil.

The Celtics have flourished in the city by the Bay winning six of their last seven games since 2016 going 6-1 ATS during that successful stretch. The caveat here though is that the Dubs have been invincible at home winning their eleven last games on home soil while covering the numbers on nine occasions. Obviously, the Warriors will have the experience edge coming into this series having many veteran players involved in the bright lights of an NBA final.

Golden State has had some issues starting games on the right foot during its playoff run and could feel a tad passive and rusty after a long layoff while Boston is coming off two grueling series with a do-or-die game 7 under its belt. Plus, the Celtics are an impressive 8-1 ATS on the road in the playoffs with the lone loss against the numbers coming without two starters in Marcus Smart and Al Horford.

Prediction: Look for the Warriors to maintain their stellar play at home and experience will be a major factor as they enter the opener against a tenderfoot squad in the Celtics. Golden State should cover the line while defense will be at a premium in a low scoring affair. Golden State -4
