The New England Patriots have won the AFC East division title in 12 of the past 14 seasons, which includes claiming the mantle in the past six consecutive seasons.
So it should be a surprise to nobody that the Patriots are currently a -195 favorite to win the AFC East once again this season at 5Dimes, while the field is listed at +170.
Everyone is pretty used to the Patriots easily winning the division, which has featured some lowly competition from the Miami Dolphins, New York Jets, and Buffalo Bills over the past decade and a half.
The Patriots’ biggest offseason addition was not an addition at all, but rather seeing starting quarterback Tom Brady getting his Deflategate suspension reversed by the courts.
The Dolphins (+360 to win the AFC East versus the field at 5Dimes) have done the most positive retooling this offseason with the additions of Ndamukong Suh, Jordan Cameron, and Kenny Stills.
The Jets and Bills have a lot of question marks surrounding their quarterback position after New York’s Geno Smith got his jaw broken by a teammate in training camp and Buffalo’s Tyrod Taylor edged out a starter’s role amidst a three-way contest.
