It’s hard to believe, but this week marks the halfway point of the National Hockey League’s regular season. With that in mind, it’s time to take a look at the futures odds to win the 2016-17 Stanley Cup.

The current favorite at the Westgate LV Superbook in Las Vegas is the exact same team that was the betting favorite when the odds first hit the board back in the spring – the Chicago Blackhawks. The Hawks are currently 27-12-4-1, they are currently the No. 1 team in the Western Conference, and they are always one of the most popular teams on the betting board.

Sitting right behind Chicago as the second favorites are four teams who could very well be taking team photos with Lord Stanley’s mug in June 2017. The Washington Capitals (opened at 8/1), the Pittsburgh Penguins (opened at 8/1), the San Jose Sharks (opened at 12/1), and the Montreal Canadiens (opened at 14/1) are all currently listed at 8/1.

At the bottom of the odds list are four teams who have absolutely no shot at winning a championship this season – the Arizona Coyotes (1000/1), the Colorado Avalanche (1000/1), the New Jersey Devils (500/1), and the New York Islanders (500/1).
