MMA Betting Lines: WSOF 33

The World Series of Fighting was formed in 2012 with an immediate deal to broadcast on NBC after the broadcaster failed to land the rights to broadcast the UFC. Ever since then, WSOF has been slowly building themselves into one of the top MMA organizations in North America.

WSOF 33 – Gaethje vs Dugulubgov

WSOF 33 could very well be the most loaded card in the company’s history, as two title belts will be on the line. Justin Gaethje defends his lightweight gold and his undefeated record against heavy-hitting Ozzy Dugulubgov. As well, two-division champion David Branch defends his light heavyweight crown against submission expert Vinny Magahaes.

Gaethje was a D1 All-American wrestler at the University of Northern Colorado before making his way into MMA. This wrestling background has made him extremely comfortable fighting in close to his opponents and he likes to get brawling in his bouts. “The Highlight’ has power in all of his limbs, which was exemplified by his leg kick TKO – yes you read that right – of Brian Foster. Dugulubgov is 5-1 in WSOF and is riding a three-fight winning streak. The Jackson-Wink product is a tough striker who tends to look for the big hit but has locked in a few subs in his career.

Branch has made himself one of the cornerstones of WSOF making his promotional debut on the promotion’s first card and going undefeated ever since. Branch holds a black belt in BJJ under Renzo Gracie and has used it, with three of his past five victories coming via sub.  He is a solid striker and has good cardio to work through five rounds if need be. Magahaes has some solid power in his hands, but make no mistake, he wants this fight on the ground. The former ADCC champion is an incredibly decorated grappler with 11 career victories via sub.
